Training Course on Fulfilling Declarations and Inspections Obligations under Article VI of the Chemical Weapons Convention

This is an advanced training course on Article VI national obligations. The main objective of this online training course is, therefore, for experienced national practitioners responsible for implementing Article VI obligations (either preparing declarations, receiving/escorting OPCW inspections, or both) to refresh relevant knowledge and skills and to get acquainted with updated information including on the scheduled chemicals and the new declaration tools. Expected outcomes: For the States Parties to submit accurate, timely, and complete annual declarations as required under Article VI, as well as to receive and escort OPCW inspections in an efficient manner.
Training will be composed of the following steps: 1. Preparation of Article VI self-assessment form and completion of e-learning modules (as part of application requirement) - by 28 February 2021 2. Self-paced learning of resources available on a training platform - the entire month of March 2021 3. A three-hour declaration exercise with EDIS, combined with declaration-related Q&A session (17 March, 7-10 am CET or 18 March 5-8 pm CET - both to be confirmed) 4. Another three-hour live session of interactive discussions, sharing of experiences as well as mock-inspection exercise (14 April, 7-10 am CET or 15 April 5-8 pm CET - both to be confirmed) 5. The final examination online and preparation of post-training action plan 6. Implementation of the action plan 7. Awarding of the certificate of completion.
