The Steering Committee of the National Authority serves as the primary advisory and decision-making body guiding the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) in Sri Lanka. Comprising representatives from key government ministries, regulatory agencies, law enforcement, and technical experts, the committee provides strategic direction, formulates policies, and oversees activities to ensure full national compliance with CWC obligations. It also facilitates inter-agency coordination, addresses emerging chemical safety and security challenges, and supports the effective functioning of the National Authority as the national focal point.
